I love this app. It helps me review my Thai. It is difficult to stay fluent w/o native speakers to practice with.

I have many Thai friends and am about to spend three months in Thailand, and this app has been very helpful!

Im relieved to have found a Thai language app with a smooth interface and a plethora of useful phrases. Male & female pronunciation and the option to slowdown the phrases. Khob kun na ka!

Fantastic . Must have for learning and proper pronouncing. Gender friendly!

I overall like the app structure and I appreciate the usage notes on some expressions, but Im disappointed they show no concern about gender bias (that is, things are said differently by men and women) even thou they make a remark about it on the "Tips" section. All the expressions are presented as if said by a man, theres no note and no audio for how it would be when said by a woman. Ideally, there should be an option in settings for choosing the learner gender. As it is, I consider this app useless for me because itd be teaching me wrong.

This app is Great!!! The answer to the statement above is: if you look at the top right corner you will see a regular face meaning male version. But if you tap it itll be a face with pigtails meaning female version.

I would rate 5 but full version needs to be a little cheaper!

I feel/think colors & numbers are the most important & should be at the top of the list followed by greetings & directions. Numbers colors, directions, & greetings should be free. Parts of language/speech more advanced/complex/ (req. expert) should be charged/paid for.

My second time in Thailand now and just found this app. Ive been learning how to count with limited help from Thai people. This really helps. The pronounced words sound correct.

Its perfect. End of story. Seriously if youre visiting a country with a foreign language, you need to download this app. It could not be any simpler to use and its off-line feature is extremely convenient. This is a great way to learn a new language or you can just use the App to directly communicate.

USA citizen (Feb 2015 review). I love languages and I love this app. This is an excellent resource! I played around with the free version of Learn Thai off & on for about a year. I had some interaction with Thai speakers and tried learning phrases with them and from the app. This was an effective supplemental tool. Once I shifted my focus from learning Spanish to a more concerted effort towards Thai, I began to use this app more. One day I decided to "go for it" and paid the $5 for the upgrade. I was thrilled with all the additional categories it unlocked and with the number of words/phrases it made available within categories Id been using. There are many things I value about the Learn Thai app, but the highest praise I have is for the dedicated male/female mode. In the upper right corner is a girl icon that serves as a toggle switch that, when touched, changes the icon to a boy. In effect, this switches the gender specific pronouns (phom/chan) & polite endings (ka/krap) within each phrase accordingly. This has been extremely helpful. I normally recommend PIMSLEUR language CDs to people looking for basic-advanced resources. While I still hold Pimsleur in high regard as a highly effective audio learning only method, the gendered parts of speech fail me in Pimsleur. As a basic Thai learner it feels confusing. By contrast, with the Learn Thai app, the gender-correct, polite manner is clearly delineated and is easily grasped. Very user-friendly, plenty of vocab within each category, and I really enjoy the auto play option--especially when Im learning #s. An overall great resource and worth paying a few dollars to upgrade. Since I used the free version SO much, I considered this money well-spent. But for those who are just dabbling, go for the free one. Theres still plenty there to get you excited.

Being able to see the phonetic pronunciations alongside the translation and while hearing a native speaker pronounce it is very helpful. Good selection of words & phrases for travelers.

This app is perfect for vacationers in Thailand. No wifi or Internet is necessary for use, and it has many helpful phrases.

I am in thailand now. Most books and online apps convert the words to how you would say it from an English speaker. Thais dont speak this way. This is the most proper way with a extensive list. Add how to memorize reading the letters and Ill be extremely thrilled! Thank you!
